Greetings Metal3 community!
The planning for next year's Metal3 Team Meetup has been started.
In 2025 we will have a theme!
The plan for topics is a bit different than in previous years, instead of asking for topic proposals there is already a clear set of challenges that the community has to tackle.
There are a few ongoing proposal discussions that would require a holistic action plan and architecture design to move forward in an organized fashion.
Thus the topics in focus for this MTM are the following:
These topics intersect each other at different stages of the life cycle management workflow. Without coming to an agreement and creating an architecture
plan that solves all the issues asked in these proposals, we won't have proper multi-tenant & highly available Metal3.
This "theme" does not mean that the discussion and the work on the listed topics has to wait until the MTM, feel free to work on and discuss the topics. The agenda is not fixed,
if some topics fall out before the MTM, then I will adjust the agenda. It is also possible to propose new topics and I will put them a on a waiting list and in case something
gets removed I will move in a topic from the waiting list. If there is a big enough list of other topics that the community would propose for the waiting list, we could even start
discussing a second MTM in e.g. the second part of 2025.
The timeline plan:
It has been proposed to facilitate the MTM at 9 AM UTC or around that time as based on the current information that would reach the largest group of stakeholders.
So far, the idea for the time frame is the first part of February from 2 to 15.
Aiming for max 2-3 hours per day, so most likely it will be a multiple day event depending on the progress we achieve.
Please let me know via slack, mail or on the next Community Meeting if you find any issue with the current plan. Based on the feedback I receive until the next community meeting
(6th of November) I will create a poll related where participants can vote for suitable time slots within the agreed time frame.
I hope many of you are interested and will be able to participate.
BR,
Adam
