I've just starting learning about metal3 and have built a standard 'make' of metal3-dev-env.

However, while it works after the make, it doesn't survive a reboot.

What might I be overlooking please?

Hi,

Metal3-dev-env is just a test/development environment, it is not designed to to survive the restart of the host machine.

I would like to ask you to create an issue on GitHub for the dev-env repo. In the issue description please write down your detailed use case e.g. what host OS you are using, what exactly do you expect from the dev-env.
I don't see a hard blocker to extend the dev-env logic to support the re-use of the environment between host machine restarts but it will take some time, especially because we support different distros(Centos9stream, Ubuntu ) and different bootstrap/ephemeral clusters (kind&minkube).
Ofc if you are willing do the implementation that is even better.

BR,
Adam
