Compiling codes using PR_RING

Dear All,
I am new to PR_RING so I have installed it and the
examples ./pfcount runs well. So I want to move on to try to compile
my own codes. IS there any tutorial on it? The problem I tried to copy
the pfcount.c and rename it to pf1.c and try to compile gcc -o pf1
pf1.c I get a whole lots of errors. Any hepl please?
