Suggestion to move discussion onto ROS Discourse

Hi, 

I'm working to make ROS projects more visible to the community. One of the ways I've been promoting this is to consolidate ROS mailing lists onto discourse.ros.org. 

I'd like to sugggest that we migrate this mailing list to a meta-ros category on http://discourse.ros.org . We can set it up as a new category on discourse and I can create a user that automatically forwards just that category to the mailing list so we don't loose anybody in the transition. We should just disable posting directly to the mailing list so we don't bifrucate the conversation. 

I expect that this will be a great way to increase discoverability of meta-ros and make it easier for others to join the discussion.

I fully support this initiative, and I have created an account on discourse.ros.org within a few seconds. That's great! Once, the meta-ros category is set up on discourse.ros.org, I will de-activate direct posting here.

So this is possibly the last post only here :-)

Great, I've created a category here: http://discourse.ros.org/c/openembedded

I cloned the description from this mailing list and set it as the pinned About post: http://discourse.ros.org/t/about-the-openembedded-category/666

If people would like I can setup all content posted to that category to be forwarded here. We've done that for several mailing lists but if there's no demand we don't need to make the effort.

Dear Tully,

as the meta-ros mailing list is usually low traffic and low frequency, I propose to forward the content here for the transition phase until all listeners had a fair chance on moving to discourse.ros.org.

So, let us forward the content until end of this year, and then we can put this mailing list here to rest.

If you add me as an admin on this list I'd be happy to setup the forwarding and once that's working disable direct posting. I can switch it over quickly as I've done this several times before ;-)
