to meta-layer

Hi all,

I’m working on something exciting for the Meta-Layer initiative: an immutable, public repository for contributions to the call for ideas on the desirable properties of a meta-layer. The goal is to create a permissionless, decentralized information ecology around commentary on Bitcoin's desirable properties. The information will be accessible both from our website and directly via hyperlinks to the Bitcoin blockchain.

This repository will serve as a prototype for future applications, as the system can easily be adapted to create immutable public information repositories for different topics.

I’d love your input on what to call what is being created in abstract terms. Naming this concept well is important to capture its essence and communicate its value. Below are a few ideas I’m exploring—do any of these resonate with you? Or do you have suggestions for something better?

Options for Abstract Names

1. Perspective Tower

  • Inclusivity of Viewpoints: Highlights the assembly of diverse perspectives, suggesting a collaborative and multi-faceted approach to knowledge.
  • Elevation and Visibility: Implies standing above the fray, offering a clear and comprehensive vantage point.

2. Knowledge Obelisk

  • Timeless Wisdom: Suggests permanence and the preservation of knowledge for future generations.
  • Symbol of Authority: Reflects credibility, as obelisks are traditionally associated with commemoration and reverence.

3. Idea Monument

  • Celebration of Innovation: Represents ideas as achievements worthy of honor and preservation.
  • Broad Conceptual Scope: Suggests a versatile space for ideas ranging from abstract thoughts to actionable insights.

4. Information Pillar

  • Stability and Foundation: Conveys that the repository serves as a reliable base for building understanding.
  • Neutral Accessibility: Suggests universal application, emphasizing clarity and structure over grandeur.

I’m looking for a name that captures the immutability, collaborative potential, and timeless accessibility of the information being stored. If none of these resonate, I’d welcome your creative suggestions!

Looking forward to your thoughts,
