HI, Matianer:

How is MIPS platform  support on debian or meta-debian?   I have a   Cavium Octeon II board.   Can I use the rootfs build through  meta-debain to boot the board assuming I will added BSP for my borad?

I see there is MACHINE for  qemumips.  Is it well supported?

Thanks,
Shawn

Hi, Shawn

> I see there is MACHINE for qemumips. Is it well supported?
Currently, MACHINE = "qemumips" is not available with meta-debian
because kernel config and other board support settings are missing.
However, we'd like to support qemumips soon for applying our reference distribution widely.

You will be able to support your Cavium board by adding BSP
based on our machine configurations for qemumips.

Hi, Shawn

MACHINE = "qemumips" is supported in meta-debian now.
Currently, only busybox-based tiny rootfs and SDK are tested on qemumips.

The actual system architecture of qemumips is "malta" (MIPS Malta Core LV) in poky.
Therefore, the default kernel for qemumips in meta-debian
is built with .config based on malta_defconfig.

HAYASHI
