Congratulations to all the 2011 MetNY GU19 Select players !
We had a long and very successful season.
We had players from twelve schools tryout and play in our many games.
We traveled to and won the women's division at the JoJo Moore Tournament.
We traveled to Pittsburgh and did well against the EPRFU and Midwest All Star teams, the latter of which was made up of mostly of college all-stars - and all in front of national selectors!
A hot 7s season consisted of competition in the women's divisions at both the Old Blue Midnight and Princeton NJ 7s. Many tries were scored, and many tackles were made, all while players got a taste of not only 7s, but 7s at a higher level of competition (and in our new smokin' hot
shirts).
Our last event of the year will be to enter a side or two in the NY 7s, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Details about tryouts/practices/scrimmages leading up to the tournament
will come out in the fall.
Keep training and playing - if your team is not practicing, find a women's side that is and invite yourself to practice!
