THE PATH OF HUMILITY (from the book Everyday wiser by Pastor Alejandro Bullon - reproduced with permission from the Inter-American Division Publishing Association)

He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way. Psalms 25:9.

Did you ever meet a proud and fair person? The proud thinks that he knows everything. Does not accept advice. His life is so full of himself that there is no place in it for God. How can God lead a proud person? And how can such a person be happy, if happiness consists in walking in the ways of God?
The apostle St. Peter said on one occasion: "... God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves, then, under the mighty hand of God, so that He will exalt you when the time is up. "
How does God exalt a humble person? Showing him the way, speaking to his heart, leading him along the paths of the nobility, teaching him to recognize his mistakes and to ask for forgiveness, to be compassionate, to reach out, to give a second chance to the one who erred.
The result of all this is that people go to admired, to love and to follow him. God fulfilled his promise to exalt him.
The proud person, said Benjamin Franklin, lunches vanity, and dinner contempt. Pride leads, sooner or later, to the terrain of shame and failure. Professional life finished, friendships broken. All this is the result of not being guided by God.
Mariano Aguilo, used to say: "If the proud man knew how ridiculous is the image he projects, even out of pride, he would learn to be humble". But the proud is incapable of self-criticism.
Humility is necessary to be fair and you and I need to be fair, as husbands, as parents, as employees or as employers, or simply as human beings. It is not possible to make anyone happy without humility.
According to today's psalm, it is only possible to be righteous if we allow ourselves to be led by God. At the end of the day, when Jesus was in this world, he said: '' Learn from me, because I am gentle and humble of heart. "**
Are there wounds that you opened? Sad hearts that you hurt? Learn from Jesus every day and remember that "He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way."
