WITH ALL MY HEART (from the book Everyday wiser by Pastor Alejandro Bullon - reproduced with permission from the Inter-American Division Publishing Association) #reflections
I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. Psalms 9:1.
The victory had not yet come. There was no applause, no medals, no public recognition. The psalmist could not yet lift the champion's cup, but he could see it already with the eyes of faith, and praise the Lord for the wonders that had not yet happened.
If I had wasted time claiming or complaining, it might not have happened. But the psalmist is able to praise the sun that will rise tomorrow, although it is still hidden in the shadows.
His praise is not born of duty. It does not do it by a simple obligation. Do not get carried away by mere formalism. Praise "with all my heart." Half heart is not heart. A divided heart breaks life in half, disintegrates it, kills it. A divided heart cannot praise.
No one can serve two masters. With half a heart you fall on the ground of pantomime. Your praise will lack authenticity, and if you are not able to see forward with the eyes of faith, and with all your heart, you will not see its wonders. But, according to today's verse, it was not enough for David to praise. He says "I will tell", in addition, "all your wonders". No one can be vigorous in the spiritual life, unless he dares to tell the wonders of God to all those with whom he relates.
In the parable of the lost drachma, when the woman found her currency, the first thing she did was gather her friends, neighbors and relatives and tell them the "wonder". Only people in whose lives God does not work wonders remain silent.
What did you lose A coin? The home, the job, the son, the peace of the heart?
Go to God, praise His name wholeheartedly. Thank Him for the wonders you have not yet received, but you already see them by faith and wait patiently because God does not fail the sincere children.
Praises God. Do not use intermediaries. "I will praise you, oh God," says the psalmist. Praise with all your being. Don't be spiritual in half. Thank the Lord for the future wonders you have not yet received.
With this thought in mind, come out today repeating to yourself: "I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.”
