THE CROWN OF THE WISE (from the book Everyday wiser by Pastor Alejandro Bullon - reproduced with permission from the Inter-American Division Publishing Association) #reflections

The wealth of the wise is their crown, but the folly of fools yields folly. Proverbs 14:24.

There are two paths and two destinations: heaven or hell, happiness or misfortune, wealth or poverty. You are the one who decides. The result of your choice will be life or death.

The book of Proverbs gives the impression of being repetitive. The words wisdom and folly are the most repeated. The final destiny of the wise is prosperity and glory. The end of fools is shame and sadness.

Life is short and just one. It resembles a one dollar bill. You can spend it however you want, but only once, there is no going back. If you wasted it and death surprises you, there is no second chance.

The wisdom that comes from God creates in you the awareness of the brevity and seriousness of life. You do not need to scare or despair, but take advantage of every minute of your existence sensibly.

In today's text, Solomon emphasizes the reward of living wisely. Mention wealth as the crown that the wise conquer. The implications of the word wealth are happiness, prosperity, success and everything that human beings crave.

You can receive at the end of life, satisfaction or sadness. It depends only on you. Life gives you time and space. It is you who decides how they are used.

Unfortunately, wisdom is not something found on the shelves of human knowledge. Only fellowship and daily communion with Jesus teach you to live. You read the Word of God and immediately it produces in your mind a thought, which is transformed into feeling and that gives rise to the decision.

Daily decisions feed on information. If these come from God, the decisions are wise. If they come only from human beings, they are just that: human, and like everything that comes from man, inconsistent, transient and subject to errors.

Make this day a day of wise decisions. Look in the Word of God for timely guidance to live wisely, because "The wealth of the wise is their crown, but the folly of fools yields folly.”
