Dear Shreeyash,

from taking a quick look at the ipynb, if I am not mistaken, then no costs of any sort have been allocated to any of the technologies or resources. If you look at the objective function then you will see that this is "0". As the objective is to minimize total system costs, but no costs having being assigned, the objective function is the same if it uses the efficient or the inefficient technology. The choice is therefore random. I would therefore suggest adding costs to the model; at a minimum to the resources being provided.

best,

Oliver

Dear Fellow Researchers,

I have made a simple and basic model comprising of three technologies and two commodities. My objective is to pick-up most efficient technology to meet the demand such that primary resource consumption is minimum. But, output shows that model is picking up the most inefficient technology to meet the demand.
Please find attached RES diagram in ipynb file. It will be great help to me if anyone could rectify what mistake I have made in the model. I am very new to MESSAGEix modelling.

Thank you !
