Crash when attempting to delete a Character

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows why my program is crashing when I attempt to delete a Character from my Matrix. I have attached a screenshot of the Error message.

The path I take to delete a Character that results in the crash is as follows: select Character > Matrix > Delete Selected Chars or Taxa.

This same process works for deleting a Taxa, just not for a Character.

Thanks for your report, Lewis! Your crash was caused by a bug that was triggered if you have a morphological data file with annotations for the character state names, and you deleted a character. For version 4, we had made some deep changes to make character deletion thousands of times faster, for genomic data, but we forgot to check it for annotated states. 

I think we have a patch. Could you do the following to test it?

Unzip it, and you will find a ReadMe.txt file, with instructions.

Does that fix your crash?  If it does, we'll post the patch alongside the 4.02 release on GitHub.
