Detective Conan Episode 400: The Mystery of the Lottery Winner

Detective Conan is a popular anime series that follows the adventures of Shinichi Kudo, a teenage detective who was turned into a child by a mysterious organization. He now lives with his childhood friend Ran Mouri and her father Kogoro, a private detective, and solves cases under the alias of Conan Edogawa.

In episode 400, Conan and his friends witness a man named Makoto Owada winning a digital camera in a lottery. They are surprised to learn that he has been winning various prizes in different lotteries for the past two weeks. They suspect that he is cheating somehow, but they don't have any proof. Meanwhile, Owada is invited to a party by his friend Toshiyuki Nishino, who is also a lottery winner. However, when they arrive at the party venue, they find Nishino dead in his car, with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Conan investigates the crime scene and notices some clues that point to Owada as the killer. He also discovers that Owada and Nishino were part of a group of 12 men who used to work together at a bakery. They had agreed to buy lottery tickets together and share the winnings, but they had a falling out over money and split up. Conan deduces that Owada had been using a special device to manipulate the lottery machines and win every time. He then killed Nishino to silence him and take his share of the money.

Conan confronts Owada and reveals his deduction. He also proves that Owada had planted a fake bullet in Nishino's car to make it look like he was shot from outside. He then uses his voice-changing bowtie to imitate Kogoro's voice and calls the police. Owada is arrested and confesses to his crimes. Conan and his friends are relieved that the mystery is solved, but they are still disappointed that they didn't win anything in the lottery.

Detective Conan is one of the longest-running anime series in history, with over 1000 episodes and 24 movies. It is based on the manga of the same name by Gosho Aoyama, which has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday since 1994. The series has been praised for its clever plots, engaging characters, and thrilling mysteries. It has also spawned several spin-offs, such as Magic Kaito, Detective Conan: Zero's Tea Time, and Detective Conan: Police Academy Arc.

The main character of the series is Shinichi Kudo, a prodigy detective who has a keen eye for detail and a brilliant mind. He often helps the police solve difficult cases, earning him the nickname of "the savior of the Japanese police". However, his life changes drastically when he encounters two men in black who are members of a mysterious criminal organization. They force him to swallow a poison that is supposed to kill him, but instead shrinks him to the size of a seven-year-old boy. He then adopts the alias of Conan Edogawa, after the famous mystery writers Arthur Conan Doyle and Ranpo Edogawa.

As Conan, he moves in with his childhood friend Ran Mouri and her father Kogoro, who is a private detective. He uses his skills and gadgets to secretly help Kogoro solve cases, while also searching for clues about the men in black and their organization. He also joins a group of elementary school students who call themselves the Detective Boys (or Detective Kids in some translations), and solves various mysteries with them. Along the way, he meets many friends and foes, such as Ai Haibara, a former member of the organization who also shrank to a child; Heiji Hattori, a high school detective from Osaka who is his rival and ally; Kaito Kid, a notorious phantom thief who often crosses paths with him; and Shuichi Akai, an FBI agent who is hunting down the organization.
