For those interested,
A small number of Station G2 Meshtastic units became available on May 19 before promptly selling out within a few hours. Per the
product page's website, additional units are expected in 10-15 days. On the product page, you can sign up for an email notification once their stock is replenished.
If you are not familiar with the Station G2 and you're interested in Meshtastic, do yourself a favor and explore
this device's Wiki page. It provides as much technical information as might be desired. This product is currently one of the better Meshtastic devices for use as a stationary home-based or vehicle-based node. It is not as portable as other devices, but its transmit/receive capabilities are among the best, and it has unique low-noise/power amplification features that may be used to maximize the link budget of your individual setup within the confines of what the FCC allows for either encrypted or unencrypted data transmissions. Also, the receive sensitivity is about 4dB higher than many other devices, allowing preservation of better SNR when communicating with low-power nodes. The Station G2 is frequently sought for establishing/improving the backbone of urban mesh networks, and a few strategic locations within our Tulsa network are being considered for this upgrade.
The Station G2's onboard LNA provides significant advantages, but couple this device with a solar power supply and a dedicated bandpass filter for 915MHz, and you'll have created a powerful tool for off-grid communications.
Anyway, just a heads up on availability. These devices sell out fast!
All the best,
Gabe Griffin
