Hi I'm new to this forum so please don't diss me!

Has anyone one worked with vmware? I would like to try to put
Locustworld onto VMware and run it from either my linux server or
windows.

Does any one have experience with vmware?

Hi Don,

Welcome! Its nice to see such a sage of LocustWorld pop up here!

To be honest, I doubt that VMWare would be suitable for running LW, or
any other Wireless Meshing OS, as they require machine level access to
the wireless card, and VMWare tends to proxy hardware access. Saying
that though, I am sure it would be possible given a suitably intelligent
proxy (beyond my capabilities though!)

Have you had a look at the Open-Mesh developments btw?

Cheers,

Richie

No I haven't check the Open-Mesh development. Normally I like to see
what hardware it is capability running on and what it can mesh with?

I like things spelt out especially when it comes to documentation. I
really dislike Linux distro's that say follow your nose.

So what is all the Hub bub about Open-Mesh is it secure? Does it
work? Is the code shareable? Has someone written documentation that
usable?

I guess I answered my own questions. If this mesh is going to take
off it gotta be like Ubuntu where everything is spelled out and best
practices are engineer in the distro. You know I very impress with
distro that are self configuring and administrating. I believe these
types of distor are the future.

Thanks Don
