Billa 2 is a Tamil action movie that was released in 2012. It is a prequel to the 2007 movie Billa, which was a remake of the 1980 movie Billa, which was a remake of the 1978 Hindi movie Don. The movie stars Ajith Kumar as David Billa, a Sri Lankan refugee who becomes a powerful underworld don in India. The movie was directed by Chakri Toleti and co-written by him and Era Murukan. He also attracts the attention of an international arms dealer Dimitri, who offers him a lucrative deal. Billa accepts the deal and travels to Georgia with Jasmine, where he meets Dimitri's associate Sameera. He realizes that Dimitri has betrayed him and tries to escape with Jasmine, but she is killed by Dimitri's men. Billa swears revenge and kills Dimitri and his associates. He then returns to India and takes over Abbasi's empire, becoming the most wanted criminal in the country.
The movie ends with a scene from the 2007 movie Billa, where Billa is shot by the police and falls into the sea. However, it is revealed that he had swapped his identity with a lookalike named Velu before his death. The movie also shows how Billa met Velu and how he became involved with an Interpol officer named Anil Menon.
