Sub: Graduation Day-2014 – 15th Feb 2014 – Instructions to Graduates
Dear Candidates: You are instructed to read and follow all
instructions carefully.
The graduation day is a significant event in the life of any graduate
and is universally organised in traditional style. Please carry out
the following instructions.
1. Dress Code and Discipline
a) All candidates registering for graduation shall be in formal
academic costumes; the male graduates shall be in formal full-sleeved
shirt, formal trousers, formal footwear, tie and Sona College blazer
or suit; the female graduates shall be in saree / formal chudidar and
blazer and formal footwear. Jeans / T-Shirt / leggings are not part of
formal dress code.
b) All the candidates shall maintain perfect silence during the
graduation day proceedings and follow all oral and written
instructions strictly.
2. Registration
a) Venue: Special Auditorium
b) Your Department Counter: Look for it near the auditorium and
register yourself between 8.30 am and 9:30 a.m. Registration will not
be done after 9.30 am.
c) Graduation Robes: Collect a set of the robes by paying an advance
amount of Rs 200/-.
d) Make a note of any verbal information given to you by the
CC/faculty at the counter.
3. Graduation Day Proceedings
a) Venue: Special Auditorium
b) Separate groups of chairs are being arranged in the auditorium for
the graduates of different departments, with signboards showing names
of departments. You are instructed to be seated in the chair with your
name on it latest by 9:45 a.m.
c) Please rise and stand up when the academic procession enters the
auditorium at the start of the function and also when it leaves the
auditorium at the end.
d) After all the graduates have received their certificates, they are
to take a pledge that will be administered by the Principal. When this
event is announced, please stand up and take the pledge audibly, after
initiation by the Principal.
e) The degree certificates are being handed out department-wise. When
it is the turn of your department, join the queue of graduates in the
order specified by the CC/faculty in charge of your batch. When your
name is called out, walk up and receive your degree certificate.
f) Please return to your seat immediately after receiving your degree.
g) Candidates are not permitted to bring cameras and cell phones
inside the auditorium.
h) Candidates are forbidden from leaving their place when the
procession leaves the hall after the dissolution of the graduation.
They are also instructed to strictly follow the instructions given by
the organizers from time to time before, during and after the
graduation.
4. After the Function
a) When the ceremony is over, return the graduation robes at your
department counter by 2.30 p.m. and collect your Rs 200-refund.
b) We take great pleasure in inviting you and your parents to partake the lunch.

note:
Please remember that you are to be in formal dress right from the time
of registration until the ceremony is over. Candidates who are not
dressed according to the dress code will not be admitted into the
auditorium.
