Hi,

Anyone has an electronic copy of the manual? Or can I just read the
400+ manual and substite amount of tubes for the lower amount?

the cliff notes version.
the eq is flat when treble and bass are at 2 and middle is at 10.
The graphic eq is post preamp/before the power amp. (so if the overdrive is too screechy pull down a graphic eq fader)
the 400 (non plus) uses 6550 tubes, it can run 6L6 too, but most folks like it with 6550.
You do not have to use boogie tubes.
the preamp tubes are (starting at the tube farthest to the left, from the back)
you can use a Y cable to feed both inputs.
v1-preamp
v2-eq
v3-phase splitter
v4-power amp driver.

only plug a 4ohm total load into the 4 ohm jacks (2 8 ohm cabs, 4 16 ohm cabs, 1 4 ohm)
only plug a 8ohm total load into the 8 ohm jacks (1 8 ohm cab, 2 16 ohm cabs)
reports differ on 2 ohm compatibility.
thats off the top of my head, plus I'm on cold medication so I apologise for errors in advance.

I read that earlier versions where delivered with 6550 and later ones
with 6L6. Mine is 6L6.

You mean bias can be adjusted internally?

Thanx a lot both of you for answering! (I did find the + manual myself
allready.)

it is a Fender clone in that regards, sounds nothing like any bassman though.
Bias is adjusted by replacing a resistor. Amp tech, find one.
Most were 6550, it was the original design spec, only a few later not the majority, are 6L6. You can use either after adjusting for bias.
You get a few more watts with 6550, though 6L6 sounds more "Fendery".
some folks bias for KT88 or KT120!
