After lusting after the legendary 400+ for years I have finally become
a proud owner! Some fool put it up on eBay for $700 "Buy it now." It
did.

I'm running:
Helms SC5 5-string
Mesa/Boogie 400+
Bag End Q10BX-D (4x10" with tweeter)

I've just started playing with the knobs. This thing overdrives on a
dime. You really have to work to keep it clean. This is going to be
fun.

Don in Chicago.

That is a great deal congratulations! Regarding clean vs drive, read
through some of the docs on here. Those amps are capable of an almost
solidstate clean when using input 1 and conservative gain. The EQ is a
little difficult to master at first as well. Also keep in mind that
the tubes affect the tone a lot. I like JJ tesla 12ax7's in mine, but
I use an old RCA 12ax7a for V1 when recording.

Awesome Don. I just provisioned one for myself. Got new in the box from bass central. One of the very last manufactured. I absolutley love this thing I dont care how heavy it is ( its not that heavy in my opinion)
Happy usage !!!!!
