The spammer-bots have made the phpbb forum software too much of a pain,
and it never was all that good anyway. Maybe we can find better
software out there, but for now let's see how this works.

Cheers,

Horace

To me it's okay. What I really liked was the original RW Forum format,
that you remember well. Once they changed that, I'll go wherever you
take us. Funny, I had bookmarked the equivalent of this page and got a
not found answer this morning. But I was fooling around and found my
name in a post by Jim2 over at RW where I haven't been in ages, and
there I found a reference Jim2's new homepage and there I found the
link to this site. Denton was there with Jim2 talking about intervals
or whatever. I think pretty soon, maybe next year (?) you'll be
comemorating ten years of MERV. Best regards, billy fanstone.

I was just looking at some of the artwork by Cricket, Deanna, Bob and
others. I had thought that was gone. Is it possible to bring back the
Preserved Posts page?

Didn't we switch from Runners World to Merv in l997? It would be cool
to see Runfar's composite picture of all the early Merv posters.

Wow. This is interesting. Thanks for doing this (again), Horace.

I'm looking for one. Meanwhile:

Swish, Frank makes a set three pointer, El G the Lesser dipsy doddles
down the court and fumbles. Frank recovers; swoosh, nothing but net.
Suddenly El G the Lesser falls to the court, writhing and kicking and
screaming mightily, claiming that Frank might have fouled him. Frank
laughingly awards him two free throws which El G the Lesser misses and
Franks recovers-swoosh, again nothing but net. Frank excuses himself
to take a nap - El G the Lesser protests weakly but looks relieved!

That game is still under review by the Supreme Court of Helsinki Dunka
Dunka Doo. Someone slipped a mickey in my Gatorade. This is a
consipiracy and yes, oh yes, there will be a rematch.

Holy crap -- I go away for a few months, and I come back to find
something that doesn't look like home (: but I'll get used to this.
Thank you, as always, Horace.

Um, let's see: well, I'm getting married! and I'm running a lot more
this summer than I have in awhile. The ITBS hasn't flared up yet.

Something funny I think you'll all appreciate:
So we inadvertantly picked as our wedding date the day of the Columbus
Marathon, introducing a multitude of issues, including but not limited
to: 1) I can't run the marathon (though it did occur to me that I could
probably run it and shower in time ...); 2) the marathon race course
actually loops -around- the park (1-mile perimeter) where we're getting
married, meaning that all of our guests will get to hop across the race
course!

I have imagined a grand plan, wherein Brian and I run the last 1/2 mile
of the race (the distance from the ceremony is to the finish) after the
ceremony -- surely the race director wouldn't mind some vagabond
photo-ops?

Cheers,

Christina, you do know that they've added a half mary this year in
Columbus, right? :)

Oh, don't think for one second that I haven't considered it!
I think, though, that it would give my mother a heart attack...
(OTOH, what better way to healthily assert me-ness on the cusp of
us-ness? maybe I shall keep it open as a possibility, after all...)
