What genie scout does is acceptable in selling ad space but NOT in charging for access to a 3rd party program. If FMRTE did that there would be no problems. Have you seen how many on facebook are complaining that 4 hours later they still havent been emailed a code???
Maybe SI are onto this already because everytime I try to do anything in FMRTE and press continue in the game I get the "Unauthorised version of Football Manager please purchase full game" message. It's some version of that message anyway. 3rd party rules being acted on?
Don't know whats going on so. I've donated put in the key it works fine but when i go back to the game and press continue it shuts down. pirated copy. I bought the boxed game in a shop activated on steam and have been playing it since release date with no problems. Not the only one with problems too. I've no problem waiting a few days to see if this changes no option but to wait at this point I think!
BUT having to donate to be able to save in a program thats advertised as an Editor (if it was a scouting tool or what ever that dont need save then fine)... thats not a donation thats straight up payment to be able to use the program for what its intended to do.

- You have donated in the past? That's fine, and I could never ask you to donate again, so no, you don't need to donate again no matter when you have donated the first time. You can have a license key.
and the fmrte creator isnt breaking any rules or laws and isn't doing anything wrong. It's simple, if you refuse to pay a 1 time small fee, then don't use it. But if you must use it to cheat and to be successfull then pay a 1 time small fee.
Been dipping in and out of this one all day and to be fair, I think you have finally got to the heart of the real problem succinctly there; unfortunately I think a precedent has been set in other walks of life - if you can, make money.
My online and offline activation is throwing up errors, why have you ruined what was once such a once, easy, free, program. I've donated a pound a month for the last year without having to be forced, this has just left a real bad taste in the mouth - even having done so, I still can't use the tool without errors, even with a valid license document. ********.
The amount of babies in this thread is unbelievable. If you were all 12 years old it'd be understandable but there must be a few grown men throwing the toys out the pram too. I have no qualms with donating, how anybody can moan about the prospect of paying less than a quid for something that judging by the amount of crying they absolutely can't live without is beyond me.
It does beg the question also though, why are we now on the umpteenth version of Football Manager and this is still the tool of its kind available? Fair play to Ruci for putting his time and skills into making it I say, everybody else moaning should maybe do something constructive and try and design one themselves.
