Hello Mersorcium-mates

Here the last reminder about our discussion session entitled "Transcription of hgcAB" that will be held in 1hour, Thursday April 4th, 2024 at 2 PM UTC.

The session will start with a brief overview of the published literature on this topic from culture-based and environmental studies. For those of you that haven't thought about this topic in a little while, here (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yeVGRvcdtkZisc4cr-jOqTad9KvoYU_3egQa-35R41I/edit?usp=sharing) is a list of some relevant papers. This by no means is a comprehensive list, but it should give you a good overview of where the field is at. This review will be followed by a discussion focused on sharing and generating ideas about how hgcA transcription is regulated, what this means for environmental MeHg formation, and what work needs to be done to push this field forward.
