Hello all,

Please see the attached flyer for the first in what will likely be a series of actions against the likely proposed closure of the Liverpool Women's Hospital. This hospital is of immeasurable value to women, babies, children, men and families across Merseyside, and beyond.

Chronic underfunding has put services at risk, and now Liverpool CCG are looking at the possibility of closure with a rearrangement of maternity and gynaecology services. The Women's is amongst the top performing trusts in the region, with excellent results from successive CQC inspections. Let's protect this precious resource; a source of pride for the city, being one of only two specialist women's hospitals in the country.

The march will start from the Women's Hospital on Grove Street at 12 noon on Sunday 25th September, and we will make our way down to the waterfront. The Socialist Singers will be performing, and we will be accompanied by a samba band.  Speakers at the rally will include Prof Wendy Savage, Sheila Coleman and Ken Loach, as well as local activists and Women's Hospital patients.

Bring banners, placards, whistles and voices. The march will be stewarded, and the organisers have done everything possible to try to make it accessible for wheelchair users and buggies.

Please forward this to your contacts, and d
on't forget to sign the petition:
