Info needed - Irish women using the Liverpool Women's to access abortion services

Hi all,

One of the key issues relating to the possible closure of the Women's is the plans for abortion services in Merseyside. So far, neither the trust board nor the CCG have even mentioned this vital service in their consultation documents. We (the Save the Liverpool Women's Hospital campaign group) are trying to gather information about the use of the service, the Bedford Clinic, and one issue is that Irish women come to Liverpool for terminations because of the lack of access in both Northern Ireland and Eire. 

Does anyone know how many women from Ireland come to Liverpool? If anyone with any information about this, or related issues, could get in touch, it would be greatly appreciated.
