Thanks, all of you, for showing your support.
The co-op function, I think, would best be served by offering our
facility and wo/man-power to the organizers of
www.SquashBlossomKC.org
(the parent org of the new Squash Blossom KC Food Buying Co-op). No
reason to compete with them, as they have already done so much, they
share our values, and we work in the very same arena(s) - we have
every reason to coordinate and extend outreach to KC's western burbs
and beyond. Steve Mann was a vendor at M.O.M. once, and he's on the
board of the SBKC Co-op - when time permits, I'll make some time to
hobnob with him on this subject (easy enough, as we both work at the
BADSEED every Friday night).
Please encourage your local friends to get involved. One of you will,
eventually, step up to be the actual organizer of this project - I
intend to advise and assist from the sidelines as much as is humanly
possible. Let me know what works. I'm available most nights 9 until
11pm at
913-620-8427 (AT&T Cell Phone).

I don't frequent the farmers market as often as I should because of the hours. A Brick and Mortar location would be better for my schedule, which is always changing. Would a coop be a viable solution? I am so impressed with the growth of the Community Mercantile in Lawrence. There is no reason Merriam can not have one of it's own! Willing to help.
