Hello,

I am looking for a guide on migrating Merlin Server 2.9.2 currently running on 10.8.5 to El Capitan 10.11. Thank you.

Hi Jeff,

Merlin Server 2.x is not certified for El Capitan.
You may update your Merlin Server 2 to the latest  2.9.6 and/or run it on Yosemite (10.10.x) if you like.

This is how to update Merlin Server:

Best regards, Vicky

Also Jeff… to migrate Merlin Server from one mac to another…

-Download the latest Merlin Server version from the website:

-Make sure it is Yosemite (10.10.x) or older

-Install by double click (for all users of that mac)

-Get a new copy of your Merlin Server license:

- Install the license file by drag & drop in the Merlin Server installation:

-Transfer the project files from your old server to your new mac
Per default they are installed into following path /Library/Application Support/Merlin Server/Projects

-Place the project files into the ‘Projects’ folder of Merlin Server on your new mac

Note: As long as you run Merlin Server twice with the same license (once on your old mac, another time on your new mac) your license will be blocked on one of the macs. In this case just quit Merlin Server on the mac where it should not run anymore (your old mac).

Best regards, Vicky
