No VESSEL_LOCATION data today on the websocket api

Hi,

We are only receiving VESSEL_METADATA via the web socket locations api since this morning  2018 07 24 ( ws://meri.digitraffic.fi/api/v1/plain-websockets/locations )

Are you aware of a problem?

Thank you for your message.  Are you still having this issue? Our monitoring shows no outages and my own small html-testclient receives both metadata and locations.

Thanks for your reply. We are sill not seeing the VESSEL_LOCATION data using ws://meri.digitraffic.fi/api/v1/plain-websockets/locations

We are testing using a Chrome web extension - Simple Web Socket Client and only seeing METADATA and STATUS:-

with the same address, what do you see?

Hi again

I investigated this a bit and found out that our other node was not sending locations at all.  So, loadbalancer connected you to this other node that was not sending locations and me to the node that was sending.  I restarted the other node and now things should be back to normal.  We will examine how to improve our monitoring to catch this situation.

Hi,

The web socket feed has stopped again this time for VESSEL_LOCATION and METADATA . Are you aware of the problem?

using the url : ws://meri.digitraffic.fi/api/v1/plain-websockets/locations we see no Data ( you can try it here -  http://seanav.net/digitraffic_ais.html ) - no location data

 

If we change the url to ws://meri-test.digitraffic.fi/api/v1/plain-websockets/locations which was commented out in your html then we also see no data ( http://seanav.net/digitraffic_ais_test.html )

The Vessel position reports ws://meri.digitraffic.fi/api/v1/plain-websockets/locations  

have stopped again. Only the METADATA is working.

Yes, there has been yet another break in the AIS message stream.

Here is our statistics view of August, and it seems that we are currently seing diminished amount of messages, even as the the dire outage of 24th – 26th seems to have passed.
