Fallout4's bottlecap glitch has certainly amassed riches for many post-apocalyptic adventurers, but like any convenient feature, the trick comes at a pretty steep cost. In this quick guide we'll show you how to get past that annoying flaw and reap the benefits of riches while keeping your hard-found ammunition intact.

Just about every Fallout 4 player has heard about the bottlecap glitch. For console players, this trick is an extremely handy way to rack up bottlecaps fast and buy out great legendary gear and ammunition. As bottlecaps pretty much fuel your enjoyment in the Commonwealth, having more caps than a recycling plant certainly boosts the game's fun factor.

While just about every games outlet has reported on the existence of the bottlecap glitch, I haven't seen any websites discuss the trick in detail or expose its caveats and trade-offs. Essentially the trick will rob you of your ammo if you aren't careful, making even the best weapons completely useless. A few times I've been caught with my pants down and without any ammo, and it often ends quite badly. Luckily, we have your back and show you how to avoid this frustrating after-effect so you can rob every vendor blind and grab near-infinite caches of caps, ammo and gear.

Remember: just because you're using an exploit doesn't mean you have to be exploited! As always we welcome any tips or tricks you've learned from your experiences in the wastes, so feel free to share below. I used any proximity mines.. never used bottlecap mines... In my opinion if its a proximity explosive and you can defused, i dont see why it shouldnt work.. just make sure you have more than 2 in your inventory. Also make sure you defused the mine before it blows up.. lol... if it blows up the whole town is going to hate you and come after you...

Anyone reckon this will be fixed? I was planning on Going back to Fallout3 soon, But atm i have loads of other games to play, And i'd like to See how much Legit xp i can get on Fallout3 Until i give up and decide to Boost. So anyone reckon they will patch this one? The games been out ages now, So i have a slight feeling they wont bother with other games to work on. So anyone reckon they will bother?

I doubt it. No more DLC is planned so there for fixing this glitch without a DLC seems pointless as its jsut a SP game. This isn't really a glitch its just an ironic spot to where a civilian is standing and protecting Moira. He actually only stays there for about 8 hours then leaves.

Its actually just as fast to run through the Deathclaw Sanctuary doing the Very Easy to Very hard switch an earning 75XP per kill. You can run through there and kill about 15 in about 7 minutes using the Tesla Cannon thats found in the Broken Steel DLC.

guys i dont know exactly how i figure this out but i know i dropped a mine and for some reason was activated by the merc protecting Moira.. so i realy quick deactivated scare of the whole town been mad at me.. then i realized it game me EXp for it.. so i tested the back wall and it worked fine... this video is loaded to my Youtubechannel... I have alot of glitches there that i found and guides for like Modern Warfare 2's Spec Ops... Anyways if you guys like what you see please subscribe to the videos thank you...

This is sweet, thanks! I missed Level 8/14 Bad & Neutral Karma achievements. Just started a new game, went to Minefield and got some mines and back to Megaton and getting XP in no time. Pick the perk that gives you 10% XP every time and it should go a little quicker

I know there was one for the Merc trophy (I did it the hard way though because I already destroyed the Brotherhood and didn't want to go on the backup save that did have their ending), one for level 50 (Did it the hard way too but I liked it) and a few for the Nuka Cade tickets. Now I have attempted two of them, that scrap/store one that duplicates, and the basketball hoop. I am unsure if I did them wrong (Probably did for the scrap/store, doesn't work for me), and just did the hoop one with three of those games together. Now the floor trick still works, but does it actually still work? I did it but I didn't get that much tickets regardless of how fast I pressed the sneak button.

it took me a while too, but the best thing i can suggest is with your thumb, hold square and x and then quickly slide right to circle while still holding x. takes some time to get used it to again but you'll get it!

Tons of videos on YouTube explaining how to do the exploits. You can duplicate all junk items. There's another exploit where you can level up all your SPECIAL stats to 10 in a matter of minutes. Also a leveling up exploit. Tried them out to see if they still work and they all still do!

This game is a super easy plat and there really isn't much farming involved at all. If you play through the needed questlines for the trophies and just collect everything and transfer it to your workshop along the way, you'll never have issues with bottlecaps or materials.

I'm surprised to see so many people looking into exploits. If you feel the need to dupe and use exploits on a game like Fallout 4, then what's the point of even trophy hunting lol. It's as streamlined of a plat as you can possibly go for.

The only trophies I ever wanted to cheat in this game, were the 100,000 Nukacade Tokens trophy in the Nukaworld DLC and the buggy as all hell 100% Settlement Satisfaction trophy in the main game - all the others I did legit.

For me, literally just the Nuka Cade tokens which is annoying. But everything else, is more after the platinum and when I create new characters, I might want to start at a different level or something. I did both platinums without any exploits because I quite enjoy Fallout 4 (I did get Benevolent Leader autopopped but not much else, which is fine, I don't need the game to be autopopped)

Something I am unsure if it was true or not, but were you able to use the workshop duplicate glitch on Nuka-Cade tickets? (The one where you press Square then swipe to circle to get two menus to show up during settlement build mode, then press X while holding O). I swear before the update, someone told me you could do this. I couldn't get it to work then, and I definitely can't now (However I ONLY just realised, the reason you can't, is because you can't actually scrap the items, the dupe glitch works on stuff you can scrap. And now I feel silly for not realising, but I swear someone told me this was a vaild glitch. I don't think the Conveyer glitch works on it either, as it dupes one at a time, not the whole stack).

Same thing with Fallout 76. They totally know about the Crater reputation exploit by now, but they don't fix that because the only thing it affects is reputation (whereas the Foundation exploit gave you unlimited treasury notes and xp.) For the best guide videos on exploits follow ESO on YouTube.

A small question: What if I fill a respawnable area (beth ruins?) with mines, then come back after the enemies there have respawned? Will my mines still be there, easily killing the enemies, or will they have disappeared? --87.208.36.84 19:47, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

When I go to Anacostia Crossing, there are always three Talon Company Mercenaries there waiting for me. Sometimes I get creative, like blindly throwing grenades from cover to try and sneak attack critical them. Today I decided to lay down bottlecap mines on the escalators, so when they came chasing after me after I shot at them, they'd set them off. But when they walked over and past the mines, they didn't go off. The same happened when I tried frag mines. I thought maybe the problem was that they weren't hostile when I layed the mines down, so I tried shooting at them and *then* laying down the mines, but still, neither the bottlecap mines nor the regular frag mines would go off. Why would this happen? Do mines *always* fail to go off when set on escalators? Do they not go off against Talon Company Mercenaries? Or am I just experiencing a glitch? If so, does it happen when anyone else tries this? (I'm using the PC version of the game.)
