Hi everyone,

I am familiar with Python but not (yet) Django or Merengue, though I
have read much of the documentation.

I would like to make the CMS easier for non-technical people to use,
by proviing localised 'user guides' when editing content or changing
block configurations etc. Presumably the relevant text, videos or
whatever could be selected via a suitable button.

What would be the best way of implementing that feature however? It
doesn't seem to be a plug-in as such, rather a change to the existing
code. In that case one would need to bear in mind integration with
future releases of the core CMS, which implies some kind of Model
inheritance I believe. Also editing/uploading of the various Help
assets should be straightforward of course, for an administrator.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Thanks ...

Richard

Hello,

providing some contextual help system to the Merengue CMS is one of the features we love to have implemented for the 0.9 version.

I have written a "draft" for a first approach for achieving it:

I'd like to get feedback because I don't know if you refer something like I've defined in the ticket or you refer something different.

Also, others related topics are:
 * improve the user guide documentation (the easiest way to improve Merengue for non technical users)
 * plugins documentation (useful before installing it)
 * blocks detailed help, visible in the plugin admin view and in the public UI (in each block)

Regards,
Manuel Saelices.
