Whenyou click Update invoice, Stripe finalizes the new invoice and voids the old one. The editor closes and redirects you to the details page for the new invoice. The embedded timeline shows all of your revisions.

Click Review invoice, followed by Update invoice. The Update invoice dialog displays all of the email addresses associated with the previous invoice including old (and copied) customer emails.

If you want to revise an invoice to automatically charge your customer, click Automatically charge a payment method on file, and then review the invoice. Before you proceed to automatically charge the customer, a dialog appears that asks you whether your customer is aware of the change. The dialog also lets you add an internal note for future reference.

Your suggestion is not working for me. QBOL displays the following message even if I don't choose "Save and Send" "Every time you save an invoice, your customer will see it updated on the online invoice page." Do you have another suggestion? Thank you for your time

Once done, refresh the page and attempt to open the invoice again to edit. Then, select the Save and close button. However, if you still encounter the same message, you can remove the email address entered in the Customer email field.

Additionally, customizing your invoice templates is a breeze in QBO. This will allow you to add or remove info, add custom fields, change colors, etc. For the detailed steps, feel free to check this article: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Hi , Ive had the same issue

i had to delete the emails in the email address field

would be better to have a function to ask if you want to send amendment, as i was only changing the class

Currently, we do not have the option to save the updated email, class, or other information for the online invoice without notifying the customer of the updated details. Still, I advise following the recommendation shared by my colleague, DivinaMercy_N.

And don't forget to submit your suggestion to our product engineers. They will carefully evaluate your idea. To provide your product suggestions, go to the Gear icon and select Feedback. You can keep track of request updates by visiting the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests webpage.

You have clicked a link to a site outside of the QuickBooks or ProFile Communities. By clicking "Continue", you will leave the community and be taken to that site instead.

To open an account, you'll need your email address and vehicle license plate information. If the vehicle is a rental, the start and end dates of the rental agreement for any leased or rented vehicles that will be used for travel.

A Toll By Plate invoice has the Toll By Plate logo that looks like a license plate on the top. The invoice includes a photo of your vehicle's license plate. The invoice is a multiple page document that includes toll activity for one license plate within the 30-day invoice cycle.

The first page of the invoice contains summary information about the registered owner of the vehicle, account activity, and payment options. The bottom portion of the page includes a Payment Remittance stub to include with mailed payment. This is where you will find your amount due.

The third page of the invoice contains information on how to appeal for the following reasons: E-ZPass customer, rental vehicle, or invoice error. The bottom portion of the page includes an Appeal Remittance stub to include with mailed appeal.

Payment information is included on your Toll By Plate (TBP) invoice. Convenient options include payment online, through our mobile app, PA Toll Pay, by phone or mail. Payments can be made via check, money order or by credit card (i.e. Master Card, VISA, American Express and Discover).

As mentioned above, if the invoice you've sent is plain text or HTML, your customer won't be able to see the changes as long as you don't email it again to them. Instead of selecting Save and send, you'll have to choose the Save and close or Save option so the updated invoice won't be sent. Here's how:

The only way they'll even see the changes, is if they click on the link in the email to view the invoice.... QB doesn't automatically send an email every time you make changes to the invoice.... UNLESS you specifically click the "Save & Send" button (instead of the "Save" button), which will just send out another email to them with the updated info. I did notice that even though there's the original email that shows the original amount, when you click the link to get to the invoice, it only shows the updated invoice. It DOESN'T show the specific changes, which is nice.

Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I'll be sharing different details on how you can stop an invoice to be viewed by your customer. Then, perform an alternative way to ensure you can achieve your goal.

QuickBooks Online has the feature to automatically send reminders to customers when the invoices are, or soon to be, overdue. If you're referring to this option, you can turn off the said invoice email reminders so you can stop the entry to be viewed by your customer.

However, if the said option is already disabled and you want to prevent the invoice from being viewed by the customer after you manually send it, this is currently unavailable. This is because the purpose of sending the entry is to ensure that the receiver knows how much they will pay.

For now, you can manually send the total amount of the invoice to your customer via email, and don't send the actual invoice through QBO. Then, you can partially record the invoice payment so QuickBooks applies the payment to the invoice line items in an order. Additional payments apply to the next line items until the payment is complete or fully paid.

Lastly, you may refer to this article to see various details on how the Sales page shows you a great at-a-glance view of all the status of sales transactions like open and paid invoices: View sales transactions.

Of course, I want my customers to see how much they owe. However, I don't want them to see the invoice each single time that I make an adjustment to it... such as adding additional charges or credits, etc. I want them to see it at the completion of the project.

I understand how important it is for you to have complete control over the information your customers see on the invoice. It isn't possible to prevent your customer from viewing the invoice after it has been sent. They will be able to access and read it once you deliver the information to them.

The idea of preventing your customer from accessing the invoice is great for future product enhancement. I encourage you to send your product suggestion inside QuickBooks by going to the Gear icon and selecting Feedback.

I have the same issue. Sometimes I make adjustments or changes to an invoice like adding or eliminating items or even just changing my category for internal purposes to better keep track of certain services, however, that does not mean I want my client to see each change, correction, or adjustment I make to an invoice. Those are internal accounting changes that the client does not need to know about. Sometimes I even start an invoice and keep adding items and services throughout the month and bill monthly at the beginning of the next month, why would I want my customer to see the invoice 10 or 15 times or more when they are not the final one? I want them to see the final one, not everything in between. I do not send the invoices directly from QBO, I print or download them to a PDF, save them on my computer and/or OneDrive and then send them using Outlook. I only use QBO for sending reminders when they are past due and even that, I do manually, I do not have the automatic reminders option ON. The fact that if my customer uses QBO, they will see every time I make a change to their invoice, whether I am ready to send it or not, is an issue for me. Even after sending the invoice, some of the changes I make have nothing to do with the amount or services provided but more as notes and clarifications for future reference that are not the customer's concern. None of the answers presented here give a solution to my issue, they don't even tell me if there is a way to prevent this from happening. Some of the answers mentioned that once sent, the customer will see all changes made to it after, but again, I do not send them through QBO and this still happens to me. If you were able to figure out how to prevent this, can you please share?

I greatly value your feedback and understand that having these options is crucial for us to improve our products and services. I appreciate your understanding that the unavailability of features can sometimes be a part of any product, and we strive to address them to the best of our ability.

Hello,

Sometimes my customers need an invoice for their orders, especially if they are not individuals.

I know the order confirmation page, or email can work as an invoice, but they need the official form of invoices.

Looks like Shopify doesn't provide invoice feature, so I wonder if there are any apps that I can use to generate an invoice and send it to customers in any stage of orders (Before payment capture, after capture, in any order status)

Thank you!
