automate mainframe with QTP

Hi
Can anybody pls tell me if i want to record mainframe screen with
qtp ... what configuration i need to do?
I have Terminal emulator installed with qtp. But if i go to TE
configuration wizard to browse HLLAPI.dll for emulation .. there are
nothing in my system. does HLLAPI.dll required for identifying? If not
then pls tell me how i can record mainframe ?

Along with TE you will also need P-CCOM to start working on Mainframe .

I always wondering about those questions related TE automation, there are so many types of them, some of them completelly not automatable, other can be automated with no real problem. 

I didn't work with TE add-in, but the bottom line, if we can read text from the TE screen, and the application has clear navigation rules, it  can be automated.

But again, I believe, there are plenty completely different TE types, from what I dealt.

Hi nandy,

hllapi.dll will be available in installation folder of Emulator s/w u r using to access mainframes i.e Hummigbird,attachmate extreme etc.

Generally once u set up emulator s/w to access Mainframes then install QTP, qtp will automatically configures the TE addin at the time of installation itself.

Note:Make sure u need to change name of xxxxxxxxx.edp(kind of EXE to access mainframes)  file to A.edp to access mainframes.

Better you read addins user guide that really helps.

iam getting the following error when trying to run a recorded script in QTP

 

Cannot identify the object "UserIdentifier" (of class WebEdit). Verify that this object's properties match an object currently displayed in your application.

How to fix this kind of errors related to Object Repository.
