Datatable vs excel.application

Can any body Please explain which one is better to use: import Excel file in datatable or create object of Excel.Application.
Please explain, Thanks.

Mizan,

Importing excel file in datatable will be more flexible way to handle data in QTP. However I'll recommend to use excel as database.

create object of Excel.Application is the best method as per my experiance.

Thanks a lot to Uma and Vivek. if you guys could explain why Excel.Application is better than importing Excel file to datatable. i will be waiting for the answer, cause i really need to learn this issue. i appreciate your help.

Killing excel object is a big deal, as long as  you handle it properly through script excel.application is good.

Note-data table is a in built option of qtp, use it.

Excel.application is a 3rd party tool, avoid it if you are a learner.

In my experience, using excel. application scripting will be more comfortable.

Because normally in most of the projects we will get test data only in excel sheet and after executing scripts showing the results in excel sheets with hyperlinks to the screen shots will look good to the client.  

if we are using datable it is double time work. we need to import data to the tool and made some changes and again export into excel sheets. instead of this why dont we make changes directly in excel sheet.
