I'm attempting to create some recovery scenarios. The issue I'm
struggling with is keeping my recovery scenario from launching when an
"optional step" is executed.

QTP will see the object as not being found if the optional step does
not need to be run.

I'm trying to figure out how to handle this, possibly in my recovery
function. I can't find a way to test for the "optional step" status.
I know a test step object is passed into the recovery function, but I
can't find a property that would allow me to find out if the step was
optional.

Is there a solution I'm overlooking? Any suggestions?

Hello,
I recently joined the group, If you still have problem, Let me know, I
will try my best to help...

If I understood correctly, you have a recovery scenario that is being
invoked when optional step is being encountered... Am i right?.

If Yes, you can write a function to disable the recovery scenario
when you see the optional step.. however, trick is you should get the
next step before you disable it.. otherwise, triggering event will
kick in and you can't do anything....

Give me some more details...

Thanks
