QTP with Unix operating system

Hi,

I came across this question recently as to how QTP can be operated
using Unix Operating System. Since I am not familiar working with this
so far I thought of posting this. I am curious to know about how
exactly can the above mentioned can be perfomed i.e.
Can QTP be installed on a Solaris machine or a machine having Unix
operating system ?
Can QTP be worked using Unix OS ?
If so how exactly can applications working on Unix Environment can be
tested using QTP?

If someone can provide this information, it could be appriciated.

If the application core run on Unix but front end on Windows (ex. browser) you can use QTP

Windows based application) in Unix Environment using QTP (through
Windows).

For example, Google's web servers are runninhg on modified Linux.

Actually, this fact does not matter for you.
You can start web browser on Windows (IE or FF) and test it with QTP.

As per my knowledge, you can't install QTP on Unix or Linux, as it supports only windows.

yes we can run qtp on unix os using Terminal emulator ADDIN
Basically it used in telecom domain applications

Can some one give me some more informaion about how qtp can be run in
Unix. O.S using Terminal emulator ADDIN. I couldn't get much
information about this and am still in vain.

Terminal emulator (client) runs on Windows machine, QTP runs on Windows, recording commands in the emulator run program on UNIX.

Try to record or use TE addin (if you need). Why you don't ask in HP?
