Subject: WHO Call for expressions of interest in developing cosmetics legislation by 22 August

Dear colleagues and partners,

I’m forwarding this in case you haven’t seen it through other channels.

 

The World Health Organization (WHO) is inviting institutions to express interest in contributing to the GEF-funded project (ID 10810) aimed at eliminating mercury in skin-lightening products (SLPs).

 

This initiative seeks to support the development and strengthening of regulatory frameworks to prohibit mercury and other toxic substances in SLPs. Activities include:

  • Contribute to do a comparative analysis of regulatory approaches initiated by WHO
  • Provide advice on development of model regulatory components
  • Consult country-specific legislation and enforcement mechanisms
  • Assistance in preparation of a draft document for COP6 of the Minamata Convention

 

Deadline for submission: 22 August 2025

Subject line: “EOI – Consultancy for Legislation Component – GEF7 SLP Project”

 

Submissions should include:

  1. A proposal addressing the terms of reference, deliverables, and milestones
  2. A proposed project costing
  3. A description of relevant expertise and experience

 

Shortlisted applicants may be asked to provide CVs and a Declaration of Interests form. Interviews will be held virtually during the week of 25 August 2025.
