Third meeting of the Eliminating Mercury Skin Lightening Products project stakeholders group

The third meeting of the Eliminating Mercury Skin Lightening Products project stakeholders group will take place on Thursday 30 January 2025 from 2pm to 4pm (GMT+1) in an online setting.

The event will provide an opportunity to share updates and lessons learned from the GEF project on Eliminating Mercury Skin Lightening Products, to present draft report on Cosmetics Listed in Part I of Annex A to the Minamata Convention on Mercury and to hear from stakeholders regarding their experiences.

The Eliminating Mercury Skin Lightening Products project stakeholders group was established in the context of the GEF-funded, UNEP-led project Eliminating Mercury Skin Lightening Products that is carried out by WHO and the Biodiversity Research Institute in collaboration with the Governments of Gabon, Jamaica, and Sri Lanka.

The group acts as a platform for information and knowledge exchange between project countries and global stakeholders working on the issue. The community of practice is open to all relevant stakeholders and experts with knowledge and interest in the issue of eliminating mercury containing skin lightening products.
