This would be great and would really help what we are trying to do with MOS.

You can already access Workorders via the API ... http://merchantos.com/API/Controls.help#Account.Workorder

I need write access to them... not just read.

I see ... I wonder if there is a bug in the server related to this ... because my API setup has checkmarks next to Create, Read, Update, Delete for Account.Workorder, but according to the results returned from Controls, I only have access to readMultiple and readSingle  ...  create, delete and update are all marked as false

I don't think the ACLs differentiate or know which particular models support specific CRUD operations.  When trying to create via the API, a 405 Unsupported message is returned.  The docs you linked to only show Query (Read) operations are supported.

At any rate, the Workorder system included is functional, but I need a lot more functionality and my goal with this is that I can write my own Workorder system to supplant what MOS has while still making sure the POS's Workorder system stays in sync.

You're correct - the permissions control on API Keys doesn't reflect whether controls actually support a particular CRUD operation.

At this time we don't support create or update events on work orders. While it's on a roadmap to get done eventually I can't offer an exact timeline as to when it's available.

You can post your interest in work order create and update via the API on our API feedback forum at http://feedback.merchantos.com/forums/192315-developer-api – we try to address features that get the most customer interest and admittedly we haven't heard a ton interest in work order write-access via the API thus far.

I'm also interested in creating workorders via the API, so I will add my interest to that link as well.

Hi Luke,
can you please help me !?!?
I am desperate to go thru authentication from your website,
I am just not sure what local host means in this attached screen shot
What is the URL or server that I need to get thru to  ?

I am trying to connect in order to get the sales from 3 registers for our customer who is also your customer and gave me his POS KEYS… but I don't have a URL to go to
I spoke to Mike in support and he said you are probably the one most able to help out ?

THANKS
Marianne

Hi Marianne -

I'm afraid your screenshot didn't come through.

As I said in the earlier email you'll connect to the server at https://api.merchantos.com/API/

Hopefully that will get you going.

Best,

Luke Bowerman

Hi,
I'm pitching LSC as an inventory and workorder tracking system for a bike share system, but they require backend workorder creation. There has been no movement on this in a year, wondering if it's on the roadmap. I cannot add to the feedback site as I used up all of my votes over a year ago for a bunch of features that have yet to be touched...

Thanks!

The client I am building an app for would like to create work orders via the API, but it seems all we can do is express interest in it, until the LS team greenlights development for it.  This feature would be helpful.
