Dear Team,
I understand that everyone's schedule is crazy these days, especially with India planning and everything, but it is important to remember that the speakers are taking out an hour or two from their even busier schedules to speak to us. They are here because they like teaching the students and and they are doing this on a volunteer basis - as a result, it is very important that we keep good relationships with them, both for MEP and for yourself.
Missing lectures every once in a while (with good reason) is acceptable, but please 1) let us know asap (and before lecture) and 2) try not to do it too often. Next week, we have a lecture from Dr. Winters (SICU) and Dr. Bollinger (SPH) - hopefully I will see most of you there!
I hate to be the bad guy (or gal) here - but just putting it out there! That being said, I have a lot of fun getting to know everyone and look forward to an amazing trip ahead :)
Lectures will return to Armstrong 326 all of next week.
We will also assign a few mini tasks for each team e.g. prepare a 1-2 min elevator pitch of the product, compiling a question list, powerpoint presentation, key goals for prototype, and leader-of the day assignments. These should be done by Aug 4th noon. I will put up more information in the dropbox soon. Your team is welcome to do it anytime you want (in US, during flight etc) - or we can call a team meeting on Aug 3/4th (which would then eat into sightseeing time - your choice!).
Thanks so much and have a beautiful weekend,
Carmen
