Reformatted USB and put only selector.adf. Result: Would load selector.adf with message "Coretex amiga floppy emulator, coretexamigafloppydrive.wordpress.com, Brought ny Herve Messinger, --- Emulator not found ! ---"
So, I've just bought my first Amiga with a DF0 selector, Gotek (Flash-Floppy) and the necessary cables. My plan is to first boot Workbench from the (DF0 selected) Gotek and put it on a real floppy. With everything plugged in, the amiga just shows the "insert WB 1.3" screen, no matter which number is selected or what's on the USB stick.
So I bought one of those Gotek USB floppy emulators, hoping to get some sweet floppy images on a usb stick.
I bought it online, but was advertised as "amiga gotek floppy emulator". I asked the seller if it can be used with PC, and he said yes...
Little that I know, that amiga compatibility comes with a custom firmware, found here
I tried to found out what to use with the amiga firmware, and it seems that you need a selector.adf file. So I tried that, togheter with some selector.adf editor program and 4 adf images. this works and I get to select the wanted image with the buttons on the gotek, but thats not realy what I need.
I was just wondering if someone knows where I can find the normal firmware and flash it.
At my work we have FTDI TTL-232R-3V3 cables, so I think flashing it wont be a problem, if I use the guide on how to flash the amiga firmware. but with which firmware?
really helped this i have just got a gotec on my amiga 500 with the mem upgrade i was gonna sell it and add money to get a 1200 did not think about the 500 games what i would miss out on as i have heard storys about this on 1200 i have never owned one just the 500 and 600 so thanks for this ill stick with my 500 for now
sorry for my questions but i dont know many things about amiga. Just this month i try to understand it. Thank you for your time. i liked very much your project and i try to do this to my 600.. i hope so..
Hi, very nice mod,
I will do this to my a1200 as well pobably, but at the moment i cant get my a1200 to run the selector.adf, with even onlythe gotek drive.
Do you know this problem?
Which firmware revision did you take?
il gotek deve essere riflasshato per poter emulare un floppy amiga, ma fortunatamente questa operazione era stata già compiuta dal gentil donatore, altrimenti credo avremmo dovuto seguire questo tutorial
Basically you only need 2 wires and a resistor to connect the Gotek to the machine video signals : One wire is used for the CSYNC video signal (Composite Sync), the other wire for the red, green (prefered) or blue signal.
One resistor must be put in serie on the color signal between the gotek and the machine.
You can use a value between 220 and 470 ohms for the resistor
