I have never been to Friday prayer in a "Shia masjid", so I was curious as to the formula the khateeb follows in his khutbah, i.e. what duas he makes, how he begins his lecture, etc. Online, you can find "how to give Friday khutbah" pages, but they mostly follow Sunni hadith books, etc. I was just looking for the same from the Jafari school, inshallah.
ofcourse they begin blessing by say salwat on ahlulbayt, most most Kutbah are about ahlulbait(saw),if there's a death memory or a birth memory, they talk about it,about what the masoum did and all good things about him.
and if there's no thing special soon, they talking about maybe belives ,what should people do to have strong belives in quraan and in ahlulbayt.also most of them talk about thing related in islam requirments- Ahkam, thing that people always ask what to do if they want to pray, how wash them self from janaba, islam requirment and how god is so generous in these.
Your question really requires a in depth answe if you want to know what formula makes up a valid Khutbah in the Jaffari school of thought and as I am unqualified and lack knowledge to provide this to you I will give a short summary of the basic things that are included and are fardh in a khutbah. I know this purely from attending regular Jumah since I was Baligh and in a Shia mosque for about 3 years now and seeing as i have only missed a handfull of jumah prayers in those 3 years i feeel i can aswer your question.
First of all there is a Adhan which happens at the begining time of Dhuhr prayer which then indicates prayer time has started and once the Adhaan is done the Imam of the Jumah starts his khutbah which is usually in Arabic but here in the west can be in English and in South Asia is in Urdu (according to the local language) and this khutbah has one criteria only and that is that it must involve information which is relevant to the community on a local and global level and the person giving the Khutbah should not be scared of the government or ruling authority i.e. he can't avoid talking about opression from the taghoot just to avoid trouble with the authorities. Alos this khutbah must contain verses from the Quran inclusing explanantion and tafseer.
The second Khutbah is purely in Arabic no matter where the location and is built up of Quranic verses followed by sending blessings on all the Alhlul Bayt (as) and Sahaba (ra). After this sending of blessing which is fardh in the khutbah for it to be complete the Iqamah is given and prayer starts so to put it short there is two parts of the Khutbah which make up the main khutbah alltogether.
I avoided the fiqh related issues because I don't know the properly or thoroughly enough but the khutbah's which i have sat through all follow the same formulae even the Sunni ones are similar with the exception of certain duas they add to the Arabic part.
the other day during jumah someone i know was reading an islamic book whilst the khutbah was being done. the khutbah in my mosque is done by reciting the quran. i told the person that someone told me to tell him not to read islamic books whilst khutbah is being done because you should only be listening to the quran. he told me because the khutbah is in arabic i cant understand it, but i said he is reciting quran and khutbah is an important part of the jumah so you should listen to it, is this ccorrect ?
