Systemd now put in a shitton of functions into one package for muh convenience and muh techn_progress and because linux devs are progressive and lazy cucks they adopted this crap.
There is no proof that it is bad per se but it was heavily pushed by red hat a possible CIA outfit and lennart a mega cuck. Also stuffing all those features into one package means that if someone would want to hijack your system, he only would have to hijack this 1 component where all the functions are unified => very convenient for future attacks => security risk
