Once the plugin is activated, you will have to go on the Administration > Entities > Root entity > tab FusionInventorypage to set the Service URL. You need to enter the location of your GLPI server, for example , do not add plugins/fusioninventory in the URL.

1: all our machines have FIA sending their data to http://[ourserverip]/glpi/plugins/fusioninventory/
Does that means we have to change that url for them to work again ?
What URL should it be http://[ourserverip]/glpi/front/inventory.php ?

I had the same problem, I upgraded to php 8.1, in the process I also made a full update (sudo yum update), the problem was resoved. I bet that what resolved the problem was the php upgrade, you could try that first. I'm using glpi with MariaDB in a Centos 7.

...I found some "glpi-agent" mentioned in a FusionInventory forum, but searching for this agent in the GLPI documentation on readthedocs (glpi-install.readthedocs.io and glpi-user-documentation.readthedocs.io [sorry, I am not allowed to post complete links :-((]) didn't return any hit. There is also no agent included in the GLPI download

Hello, my question is this, just installed FusionInventory and I've managed to sync the pc in glpi and recognizes me, and let me know how to do to install programs from the FusionInventory / glpi've already added a program for package management, but then not as installed on the pc, thanks in advance

To enable the logging feature (assuming it runs Windows) :stop FI Agent on the target computer, open regedit and find the key HKLM\SOFTWARE\FusionInventory-Agent . Edit the value "Debug" and set it to 2. Restart the FI Agent service. The path of the logfile is in the same registry key, in the value "logfile". Default is fusioninventory-agent.log located in the program dir of your FI Agent.

If I run [c]fusioninventory-netinventory --host 10.0.5.5 --community snmp_secret --credentials version:2,community:snmp_secret --type COMPUTER --control --debug[/c] manually, I can get the expected data, so the inventory itself works. I suspect the problem is on the GLPI side, but I'm not sure where to troubleshoot.

Is this a (known?) limitation in NetInventory, or is it a bug? That it does inventory only for Network devices and not Computers?
My use-case is to use NetInventory to have a limited inventory via SNMP for computers where I can't install fusioninventory-agent (either too old, outside of my management, or appliances), but that have SNMP active.

Yes, see my other more detailed post. I managed to get the task to work only when I added an IP range with a network device in it. Previously I was trying to do inventory for ranges that had only Computers (not Network devices) and it failed to start. It seems there is a known limitation: github.com/fusioninventory/fusioninventory-for-glpi/issues/1172
I wasn't aware that glpi-agent is a fork of fusioninventory. I'll need to read up on it and maybe give it a try, thanks for the suggestion. Do you know if glpi-agent's NetInventory can create inventory for computer objects? Somehow I doubt it, because there is a limitation in GLPI - which doesn't seem to look in the computer objects when creating a task for netinventory...
I will also update fusioninventory on the agent - I pulled it from an old repo, but I doubt it will fix my problem.

I have a glpi version 0.83.1 here and want to import inventory data from clients in our network. So i installed the FusionInventory plugin for glpi successfully and the FusionInventory Agent (2.2.7-3) on one of our clients for testing. We don't want to run the agent as a service though. So i just started it once pointing it at our glpi server.

What really puzzles me: i cannot see the client when i just click on "Inventory" and then on "Computers". It's simply not there. I can reach it from the entry in "agents management" but by no other way. I tried to transfer it to a different entity in agents management and the value in the entity column changes accordingly. Still i cannot reach the data "normally" via the "Inventory" menu in glpi.

Searching for a way to import fusioninventory output in itop, without having additional extensive software running.
There are threads about OCSInventory integration, but that seems to add excessive complexity.
talks about integration with fusioninventory-glpi, but that involves PHP file modification (preferably to be avoided), and the link to the tutorial is broken anyway (leads to the main itop page on SF).

The best strategy is to write/configure your own collector. I understand that you would like to avoid modifying PHP file, this is not required...
1. you will just have to write a few PHP lines in new files, usually just 2 or 3 lines are enough,
2. You will need to define how to get data from fusioninventory-glpi. How can this tool be queried, SQL, REST, webservices returning CSV ? For each of those 3 methods, a predefined collector exist already with the SDK, so writing your own based on those is mainly a matter of writing configuration files.
3. Then you will have to write an XML file specifying the mapping logic between you fusioninventory-glpi data format and the iTop objects logic. The exact syntax depends on the format of your source data (SQL, CSV or JSON).
4.then you will need to create DataSynchro in iTop, export the datasynchro definition in XML format
5. Install all those files on a machine, having web access to your iTop (and most probably also web access to your fusioninventory-glpi server) and cronify the collector.

- After renaming your devices ( rename of device don't change automatically the value of devices name for fusion agent )
- Stop fusioninventory service
- Delete C:\Program Files\FusionInventory-Agent\var directory ( it contain information for agent fusion, and with clone they have same value => not good)
- Start fusioninventory service => its rebuild C:\Program Files\FusionInventory-Agent\var directory with new information for distinct fusion agent.

Could you explain how this is possible if the agents can initiate communication to glpi but glpi cannot start communicate with the agents? Could there be some problem with how Windows firewall is opening a port of Fusioninventory-agent during install?

i tried atleast a hour or two to get it to work from windows clients but with no luck. Then i installed the agent on the linux server which runs glpi/fusioninventory server at the moment and it worked.
But it did take way more time through glpi as it took with a linux cmd line tool like "wakeonlan".

It takes arround 30-60 seconds to turn on a pc through glpi, it works instantly from commandline.
Also glpi/fusioninventory cant tell if the task worked fine and only reports "unkown" for its outcome.

I have managed to install GLPI v0.9 on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with plugin for FusionInventory. The FusionInventory agent on my Ubuntu 16.04 client was also registered in the GLPI database. However, the FusionInventory agent (fusioninventory-agent_windows-x64_2.3.17.exe) on my MS WIndows 7 client was not.
