I have a good French language dictionary: Le Robert micro dictionnaire de la langue française poche. The pronunciations use the International Phonetic Alphabet and, while it's a good alphabet, it makes little intuitive since to me and it also doesn't have very much in common with the French alphabet/spellings. This means constant small frustrations and time lost from actually studying French.
It seems that many current French dictionaries don't *have* pronunciations. Why? I don't know! I did find one with them: Larousse le lexis le dictionnaire érudit de la langue française, but it isn't cheap. Before I pay that much for another dictionary I need to know if the pronunciation system will work for me but I can't find that info: the Larousse web site, book sellers, Amazon, eBay, etc.

How to install French Larousse dictionary on your Android device:
10 March 1939 from London to Aunt Klara (Düsseldorf? Germany):
[Translated into English, it reads] "Please also pass by the bookseller's again and ask when he could send me the book [about Ruisdael; see below]; if it is no longer available they should send me their antiquarian and modern art history list and I will choose something from there. Also ask them if they can get the big Oxford dictionary and what it costs. That is an English dictionary that describes each English word with and English one [sic]. (it corresponds to the French Larousse). …..
I am prepared to take the Oxford dictionary instead of the Ruisdael book that I have already paid for. Unfortunately I have no idea what it might cost."
