Hi, I bought sims4 on steam but want to play on Mac, how can I access this game through origin? I've played it before and it was working but I cannot figure out how to get it to work now. I bought the deluxe version so I don't want to lose my bundles but even when I did try to get the sims4 regular one it says I already own a better version? what do I do? I appreciate any help!!
This happened to me too. The Steam version of Sims 4 isn't compatible with Mac. The solution is to search the store in Origin for Sims 4 and install. Afterwards, you'll have Sims 4 in your Origin library twice: the Steam version and the non-Steam version.

I try to download sims 4 for Mac. I chose it and added to the library, then opened in the library, but I still don't see any sign of download button ? I have reloaded Origin, but that doesn't help, I still have the same problem. I can see only information about the game, and that's all. I see Steam button, but it's impossible to get the sims from steam, isn't it? Why there is no ability to download the game?
So I have had Sims 4 for a while on Windows from Steam, I just bought a MacBook and wanted to play sims on there but, it won't let me download it. It only shows the Steam logo, and when I go to "Get it for free" it says I have deluxe pack already and to go to my library when I do go to library it doesn't give me the option to download.
I had purchased The Sims 4 on my desktop computer from Steam a few years ago. The version I bought was also a deluxe version of the game. I no longer have that computer anymore and I deleted The Sims 4 off it a while ago. When I tried to redownload from Steam on my mac laptop, it said my version is only available for pc. So I downloaded Origin and it still will not let me download the game because it thinks I already own the game, but the version I own is incompatible. It also says that since I already own a higher version of the game as a reason why I cannot download the mac version. So that leaves me with no game and no way to download or buy a new version. I submitted an EA help form and they told me the problem was not being able to download owned content and to close all background apps and try again and that didn't work.
Hello! I started The Sims 4 a few months ago on PC. I downloaded it through Steam, and it is also connected to my Epic Games account.
I'm currently going through the process of transferring my old PC files to a new Mac I purchased. The Sims 4 and all my DLCs were successfully downloaded through Origin, but the game does not open. It only bounced on the Deck once but the game never opens.
My Origin Library shows two versions of the game (Steam and Epic Games). The Steam version is greyed out. The Epic Games one is clickable, but it does not actually start the game.
When I installed the Steam and Epic Games apps to try and download the start the game from there, they both say the game is not compatible with my operating system. This makes me really confused since my device is already at Ventura.
Unfortunately I purchased three games last night and am unable to download them as I am having the same issue as they are, I have disabled firewall, cleared my cache, and reloaded origin....sadly its the same thing no matter what....it sounds like there is a glitch on origins end that needs to get fixed
Yeah, it got stuck at 10% after all. Honestly, origin has too many bugs hopefully a new client update will fix it soon. Is there enough space in your hard drive? Have you tried lowering the UAC setting and clearing the origin caches? It works for some bugs but not for this one in my case.
When you have a chance can you try setting up a Clean Boot on your PC to see if that helps at all? If there's something running in the background that's interfering with Origin that might allow the client to complete the download.
That is the one I'm using now, have downloaded games, updated games, everything is working smoothly now; if you don't trust me, you can search around for the installer, remember that it's version 10.5.41.27263, also remember to turn off auto-updates for Origin and games, if Origin updates to release version it will stop working again (I tried it), just manually check for updates using the library function. Also also, keep that installer around as a backup in case Origin, inevitably, fumbles another update. I hope this helps.
