Warwick University ran a three week summer school. "The National Academy for
gifted and talented children". The Academy has its own web site . The site
does give full details of entry requirements etc. but the news section needs
updating
This was an experiment for this first year and only 100 pupils were
selected, The youngest pupil was 11 years of age.
By all accounts it was very successful but a full report of the experiment
is still awaited. The concept was to keep in touch with the pupils on an
ongoing basis and to further develop their interests. I understand that
there were about 24 students in the mathematics section. The minimum age for
enrolment was 11 years.
Students were presented with a certificate at the end of the course and
those participating will be asked back again next summer.
