Men
I was in a training class this morning about emergency reponders and heard a saying that should fit us as Christian's.
"The body goes best where the mind has been"
when someone is responding to a crisis responders try to take the shortest route to the scene, wreck, etc.
when we as Christians have a crisis our body should go where our mind has been, to prayer. We are never in such a hurry we cannot stop for a brief time to say a prayer for someone. One of my first training officers would stop a car going down the road with their emergency flashers activated. Most were going to the hospital due to a wreck, heartattack, etc. When question they admitted they were not doctors or nurses and could in no way physically help the person. He would then explain that in their hast and with their mind not centered on driving they were unnecessarily endangering themselves and other. Since that time I continue this activity.
I think we as Christians should, if we dont already, make it a habit to get our bodies into the presence of prayer as often as possible, I believe this is called humbling ourselves before the Lord. Then when an emergency does come along it will be easier or maybe even automatic for us to take the shortest route to prayer that we know.
May You Grow richly in the knowledge and grace of our Lord.
David
