Iupdated to iOS 17, and one of the first things I noticed when turning my phone back on was the little "SOS" in the top corner. I checked my cellular settings and my eSIM was gone. I'm currently trying to see if my carrier can restore it, but it seems like an Apple bug that I'm asking my carrier to patch up.

Cannot delete the eSIM (death spin "Removing", cannot Activate a New eSIM death spin "Activating"), tried resetting all eSims, tried resetting Network settings, the iPhone recognizes NO CARRIER but claims the Carrier Sim is Locked, which I suppose is what they do if you buy the phone on time from the carrier/service provider so you can't split before the phone is paid for.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. For this issue, we'd recommend the following which is from the related article, If you see 'invalid SIM' or 'no SIM' on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support.

The problem is that if you don't have an esim, you can't call your provider. Or if you try to sign in online, it can't verify because you don't have an number anymore. So, this isn't a great solution. Finally, if you have a US based esim/carrier and live or are travelling abroad, you cannot physically visit a location which is the work around that the carriers suggest. So, it's a pretty big problem. However, there is one mysterious thing that has worked on both my phone and my father's phone after about 4 hours of calls to apple. Switch on flight mode. Then switch it off and sometimes.... it magically reappears. Until it disappears again. But as sketchy as that is and feels like walking on egg shells. It's worked 3 times.

The workaround, while true - does not solve the problem. Given that even after applying the workaround, iOS will again report the eSim is not available and you're in SOS mode. Again apply the workaround.

After changing my personal number to eSim, and use dual sim for work phone, my iMessage stopped working for either number. And in Settings-iMessage, both numbers are waiting for Verification and don't know how to verify though...

I tried selecting my number and all it did was continue to spin endlessly. Ultimately, after trying to restart my phone several times, I got it to work by logging out and back in with my Apple ID. My phone is a 13 Pro. It didn't take too long because I have another Apple device.

Initially, my network service provider did not correctly perform a sim swap to change my sim from physical sim to esim, but had instead add an esim to my account as they offer for people who want to use additional devices linked to their phones ie watches, etc.

Then there was iMessage - After sorting out the sim swap I then tried to activate iMessage and after switching it on I left it at that for 24 hours for the function to activate. It did not activate within the 24 hours. I then tried again and within a couple of hours the function was activated and is now working since yesterday afternoon.

So it does seems like a bit of a patience game provided the sim swap is done properly. iMessage needs sms functionality in order to activate, so if any option made for esim etc does not have the sms functionality active, iMessage will fail to activate.

If you have already sorted out the esim and smses work, then my suggestion is to select activate and leave it for atleast 24 hours. If it fails after 24 hours, try it again and leave it. Do not disable and enable repeatedly as iMessage takes time to activate.

I also have the same problem I have a primary eSIM and physical secondary sim which is not online when I went to settings>messages>send and receive > my number is not appearing as an address only my mail is appearing there are no other numbers

Today i have converted airtel physical sim to esim. My physical sim is deactivated but esim is not showing network. I can make and receive calls, use internet. Iphone 13 is showing no sim. I was at 17.3 public bet version that I upgraded to 17.4 public bet but issue is still there. Can we raise defect for it?

I am facing the exact same problem in my iphone 15. After successfully updating to Airtel eSim from physical sim, the network bars are not visible on my phone. But I am able to make and receive calls and also use the Internet. Why is this so??? Any solution to the problem???

I was able to get a fix for this issue if you are able to receive SMS then place another esim request from the My Airtel App and once that sim profile is configured then under mobile service the turn of the previous line and delete the esim you should be able to see the network bars.

Go to Airtel Thanks App > Upgrade to eSIM > A pop will come eSIM detected transfer eSIM to new device > Ignore that pop-up > Select eSIM for this device and request again for the same > Setup the eSIM and Problem will get resolved.

Hello Everyone Me Convert To Airtel E-sim last Thursday now Monday 12 days now still network not show the bar i have use 2 numbers one Is BSNL if any i try to call Turn of the BSNL Line and Call to another numbers what can i do and how resolve this ....?

If sim line to convert is in host phone, remove SIM card and delete from SETTINGS-CELLULAR-Cellular Plans list. Place that sim in another esim capable iPhone and turn that phone on with that line active. It must be on the same T-Mobile plan as the Host current esim line. On your Host phone, open CELLULAR-ADD CELLULAR PLAN and touch the SIM card number to import as esim. Just follow the on screen instructions to install as new esim on Host phone as 2nd esim.

You should have received an esim pack if you wanted to use esim, and for 99% of people you dont need esim...

If you cant see it in my o2, you will need to pop into an o2 store with photo ID, and get the esim pack.

Esims are meant for more technical users, and it should be under Sim Cards, Install Sim, and then esim option..

If not, then you will need to go to the o2 store and get either a plastic sim or an esim pack

if you have not get the text from Bell yet, don't turn on your PM esim yet. Wait for Bell to send you the text or call PM porting team and ask them to re-submit the request if you waited 90 mins and still not receive anything text from Bell

if you already got the text from Bell and replied, then yes, remove the Bell sim (or disable Bell esim) and click Turn on this line of PM esim. Reboot phone ever once in a while and test inbound calls (and your outbound should work anyway even port is not completed, if outbound is not done, then it is a problem with the esim setup and need agent to help)

Thank you for the quick response. I made sure the setting "turn on this line" is turned on for the second eSIM. I also rebooted my iPhone and just reset the Network Settings. I believe the eSIM is not configured correctly. What else can I do to fix this? My wife also just switched over to Public Mobile tonight with me and her eSIM has her phone number and it's working for her. I set up both phones but mine isn't working. I've attached some screenshots. Thank you.
