Hello ward leaders,

We had a phenomenal turnout of youth for last Wednesday's first rehearsal. Thank you!
The kids were energized, the dance numbers are looking fantastic, and the hot cocoa and cookies were delicious!

Please share the information you need to with your youth today (if you read this email before heading to church!).
I am including the schedule for this coming Wednesday.

Please remind your youth to arrive promptly at 7:00pm and go immediately to their assigned location.  The rooms may change from week to week, so be sure to check in the gym if they need a reminder of where they are to go.

Any youth who did not come last week, please have them check in with Chelsea in the gym for an assignment.  We look forward to as many more youth as would like to join us.

Room Assignments:
Shake It Off - Primary Chapel
Disco Inferno - Baptistry
#thatpower - Nursery rm. 13
Geronimo - YW room
Top of the World - RS room
Tech/Lighting - gym
Characters/ acting - Room 10

Rehearsal Schedule for 2/11:
7:00-8:05 Dance rehearsal
7:30-8:05 Rehearsal with Leaders for their dance (top secret) - see below***
8:05-8:20 in gym to rehearse finale section
8:20-8:30 announcements, spiritual thought, and treats

***Please note and share around with the leaders (secretly) that there is a dance number by any stake and ward leader who would like to participate.  This includes you, John Stevens!  It is known on Wednesday nights as "Leader Meeting", and takes place in the High Council Room.  We think this will be a very fun way to share the experience with the youth and give them something to talk/ laugh about in a bonding, happy way.  It is really easy to learn.  The whole dance is 1 minute long.  If you were not there last week, no problem - come this week.  If you can't come this week, no problem - come for the last two rehearsals (plus dress rehearsal and the show).  If you are a dance captain or prop/costume lead (read on to find out), you can still join us.  Just let me know and we'll find someone to cover for you if necessary.

Help Needed:
1.  Prop/ Costume lead - 1 for each ward
  • I'm asking the YW president from each ward to either be or to find a prop/costume lead to represent your ward.
Palo Alto 1 - Kelly Cook
Palo Alto 2 - Jen Weiner
Valparaiso/ Redwood City 2 - Alisyn Crowder
Redwood City 1 - Cindy Fletcher
Menlo Park - Allison Zollinger
    • Please ask one of your counselors, advisors, or someone else of your choosing to be the lead for your ward, if you prefer.
    • Please respond telling me the name of your ward prop/costume lead before Wednesday.
    • The lead Prop/Costume for each ward will be assigned to lead youth working in the prop/ costume room each Wednesday night.
    • I'll need that lead Prop/Costume person to come early on Wednesday (6:30pm) if possible to receive special instructions.

    2.  Items needed by ward assignment
    • Please bring the following items by Wednesday:
    • Please deliver them to room 12

    3.  Dance captains
    • This person will be with their assigned dance group each Wednesday, at the rehearsal, and during the night of the show.
    • Video record (if you haven't already) the dance for the youth to watch/ practice during the week and share that out.
    • Take attendance at each rehearsal.  (we'll have the attendance sheets for you)

    4.  Set helpers
      • We need MEN leaders to help with sets.
      • There are heavy pieces of wood/ backdrops that need moving safely.
      • Last week there was an unfortunate accident that don't want to repeat.
      • Please, men, when you come with your youth, if you don't have an assignment, go to the stage and see what you can do to help.
      • Thanks!

    Thanks so much!
It is really exciting to see so many youth in one place having a good time, and sharing in a spiritual experience at the end of a fun night.

p.s.  Chris - could you get this out to the Young Men ward leaders?  Thanks!
