    Hi, Lao Chiang:

      0)    I am going to be a bit philosophical
by talking about this topic not very
            specifically, but by general concepts.

      1)    Re: UR Pt. 1) "RMB  can never
replace the US$" and Pt. 2) "respect the
            world's organic farmers":    HP expressed
            the comments for me.

     2)    Re: Ur Pt. 2) "Human is always
greedy":    The human desire to have more,
learn new and get better is what drives the
civilization. However, when one asks for
more than needed, or taking advantage of
others, it becomes greedy. Recent scientific
studies show that a lot of long-thought
being human-only behaviors such as teaching
and learning are imbedded in other animals
for ages. What I have not heard about
animals is getting more than needed. For
           example, developed countries are dealing
with obesity and related medical issues.
It is a self-inflicted problem that it was
so remote to us when we were growing up.
Now, even China is facing it.

      3)    Re: Ur. Pt. 2) "I more respect the traditional
             tech company as General Electric":
Yes, when we picked our career entering college, engineering
was a noble profession. We wanted to make better things for mankind
and got paid well. But, after grinding through social mechanisms,
was our outputs really helping people or just advancing the goal of a few?
Remember that I brought up the case that I enjoyed and was proud of my work
on satellite communication, but actually might have been helping
           the "US military industry" agendas?

      4)   Seeing other industries making money the easy way, even basic engineering
has gotten into the mode of "fishing in the muddy water". That is,
instead of making rock-solid products, after-sales service contracts
are the norm these days. Of course, the software segment pioneered this trend.
For example, remember how academic IEEE was? Nowadays, its activities are
very much in gear with commercial goals.

      5)    Worse yet, the general trend is to make technologies as numerous and confusing as possible. So that consumers are lost in making any meaningful choices. For example, one famous joke in Standards field is that "Standards are great, because there are many to choose from." Although this keeps a lot of people "employed", the overall waste is astronomical.

      6)    And then, we have so many frequent turn-overs of "high-tech" products that double pollute the environment, both in making and disposing them. This issue is the least that the greedy business people care about.

        7)    Except Pt. 5) that I have specific example to show if you are interested because I have been working in it, the others are my observations and derivations based on "the same" principle.

        Dear Abe,

        1) You may put your question instead of your comments on top of your forwarded URL to prove that you had read this forwarded article next time.
If it is worth Abe's time to read, so to us.
RMB  can never replace the US$ as the common acceptable international currency, this is a good topic for us to chat.

        2) Human is always greedy no matter which industry, usually our mates of tech background like to blame the greed of finance industry, but the tech industries including drugs, IT, electronics are doing the same evil things in order to make more money.
I am specially familiar with the tricks of Google, Facebook , IBM,...etc. I more respect the traditional tech company as General Electric than those so-called high tech companies.

I only respect the world's organic farmers producing foods for us.

         Hi, Lao Chiang:

         0)    Thanks for your comment.

         1)    My normal practice is to write a preamble to the article that
I share with Mates. The reason that I only labelled "FYI" for
this one is that the entire field of international trade and
currency exchange is totally foreign to me. I am not able to
say anything about it, but thought Mates like you may be better
equipped to keep an eye on.

         2)    On this general topic, I saw LIBOR scandal in the news recently.
After a bit web surfing, it made my eyes watery. I must profess that
this is another bad use of the smarts of our financial professionals:

             http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libor_scandal

             http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/business/2013/02/24/libor-investigation-hayes-citigroup/1937589/

To me, financial mechanisms were intended to facilitate the commerce.
But, during the last few decades, they got turned into fancily wrapped
financial "products" that are non-productive, except enabled the twisty
financial people to suck money out of the unsuspected. They are white collar
         crimes to the extreme.

I look forward to your thoughts. Thanks.
