We did go shooting today. I printed 70, 90, and 100 percent infill barrels with .3 layer height and 200% extrusion multiplier. All barrels were treated to acetone vapors for ~30 seconds. Liberator frame was printed at 100% infill. All other components were at 70% infill. Ultibots ABS at 235c.
Total success. No failures. We fired multiple rounds through many barrels. No evidence of stress cracks in any barrel. No evidence of any difference in wear between any of the barrels.
I fired one barrel of each infill in a fixture and triggered via string, but after that we each fired by hand wearing gloves.. no evidence of any blow back or powder on the gloves.
I fired by hand without gloves several times at the end without issue.
I saw the video made by the New South Wales police where the Liberator they made exploded.. I'm convinced it was either printed by an idiot or they deliberately made it weak intending it to fail.
I wish there was a way that every person on this planet could have at least one of these...
